LUNDU, Feb 4 – The Tanjong Datu state seat by-election will see a three-cornered fight between Barisan Nasional (BN), the State Reform Party (Star) and Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) Baru.
Returning officer Hamsein Atar said by the time the nomination process was closed at 10am this morning, four nomination forms had been submitted and accepted by the Election Commission at the Lundu Community Hall here.
Hamsein said the first form was submitted by Rapelson Richard Hamit of PBDS Baru at 9.05am, Star’s Johnny Aput (9.06am) and independent candidate Asbor Abdullah (9.07am).
However, the nomination form by Asbor was rejected, as he failed to submit his financial statement.
Puan Sri Jamilah Anu, who is BN’s candidate, was the last among the four to arrive.
Wearing a black jubah, white tudung and sunglasses, Jamilah, the widow of the late Tan Sri Adenan Satem, was accompanied by her two children – Aziza Jasmi, 33, and Azizul Anuar, 24.
