SEREMBAN, March 19 – Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir said several top civil servants will be sacked should Pakatan Harapan wins the 14th General Election.
In a report by The Malaysian Insight (TMI) today, he said the officers will be removed within 30 days in office.
“It’s okay to side the government of the day but they have gone out of their way to protect criminals. To us, (Datuk Seri Najib Razak) is a criminal,” he told a dialogue in Senawang, Negri Sembilan.
Mukhriz, according to TMI, was responding to a question from one of the participants at the dialogue.
The report, quoting the former Kedah menteri besar, pointed out that all civil servants, regardless of position, should work in the interest of the people.
In ‘Buku Harapan’ (PH manifesto), the appointments of senior civil servants will have to be approved by Parliament, before they are submitted for the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s consent,” he was quoted as saying.
Earlier, Mukhriz admitted that there were dissatisfaction within the PH’s ranks with regards to seats allocation for GE14 but brushed it off as a minor issue.
He said it was normal for parties to be “unhappy” when discussing seats because each component parties have their own expectations to contest in certain areas.
“Sometimes, this kind if issue can be resolved quickly, some times it needs more time. It happens everywhere and not a big issue,” he said.
In late January, Negri Sembilan’s Pakatan Harapan convention ended in chaos when PPBM grassroot members were dissatisfied with the state seats allocation distributed by the top leadership.
Party members claimed the seat allocation was done without prior notice, discussion, consultations of the state PPBM.
They had expected allocation of at least 10 state seats but got only six.
