PETALING JAYA, Sept 19 – Astro has finally come through with this season’s UEFA Champions League broadcast.
The company announced via its sports-dedicated Twitter Account Stadium Astro that the UEFA Champions League will be available to Malaysian viewers.
The kick-off game between Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven will air at 12.55am Wednesday (Sept 19) on Astro Supersport (Ch 810/HD Ch 831).
Astro Head of Sports CK Lee confirmed the matter to Astro Awani.
The admin cited the increase in price of broadcasting rights as one of the reasons.
The admin also said that if the company bought the rights then customers would have to pay more just to watch the Champions League games.
It ended the message by asking the user what the company should do.
Stadium Astro has apologised for the exchange.
The company released a statement saying that it was still negotiating the broadcasting deal with the rights owner.
