NEWS about the possibility of Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi being arrested by the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) today and charged in court on Friday is yet another era of ‘political darkness and evil’ in Malaysia.
The Umno president, who was called up by the MACC four times over his family-own foundation that builds tahfiz schools, mosques, surau and carrying out charity works for the public, is undergoing a torrid times of ‘witch-hunting’ by Prime Minister’s Tun Dr Mahathir’s regime.
Leading the Pakatan Harapan government after the 14th general election, the ‘dictatorial’ regime seems to have its arms flexed on the judiciary, MACC, Registrar of Society (RoS) and others.
It is believed to be another suppressing methods by the government to make Umno illegal and having all its assets being put under the Official Assignee.
Until he submits to their political demands, one by one of Umno’s high-ranking officials would be reprimanded by the MACC and the police.
It is learnt that the Attorney-General Chamber itself is against such an arrest since no investigation paper (IP) was submitted by the MACC on the foundation.
However, a judge recently appointed is tasked with ‘creating alibis and evidence’ to implicate him of wrongdoings, notably with 1MDB scandal.
This notorious ways of wiping out Umno from the political arena is tantamount to erasing Barisan Nasional’s 61 years of supremacy in Malaysia.
This blatant approach might probably lead to an uprising similar to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim case in 1988, which was orchestrated by Dr Mahathir himself.
The existing 3.6 million Umno members nationwide will not allow this to happen as thousands of them are heading for Putrajaya and converge at the MACC as a symbol of protest.
With former Education Minister Mahadzir Khalid being quizzed for 5 hours by the MACC on Wednesday, it is expected that more Umno office bearers will be dragged to court.
The case against Zahid is not established, and the fact that the news of his arrest is out since yesterday, is a prove that the MACC is not reliable in holding on to its confidentiality.
And the current regime holds much pride in such arrests as a way to demoralise Umno members and see the exodus of more Member of Parliaments, believed having pressured to join the minority 13-seat PPBM in PH, which makes Tun M to feel insecured!
