MIRI, Nov 6 – A man had a shocking start to his morning when he discovered a baby cobra coiled in his washing machine at the Jelita Park here yesterday.
In the 6.20am incident, the 32-year-old man who wanted to wash clothes alerted the authorities when he found the poisonous snake in his washing machine.
Miri Civil Defense operations officer (APM) Capt. Hazlee Shah Abd Hamid said the man contacted the emergency line as he feared that the snake’s mother could still be hiding in the machine.
Three members of APM Miri were deployed to the location immediately after receiving the emergency call at 6.30am.
“We found the snake coiled in the washing machine and it was taken to the Miri District Operational Control Center (PKOD),” he said.
He said the snake was believed to have entered the washing machine through a small opening underneath it.
“However, we didn’t find any other snake there,” he said.
