GEORGE TOWN, Nov 8 – Police have arrested five Nigerian nationals to assist investigation into the distribution of Bible-inspired book at Lebuh Carnavon, here, today.
Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Che Zaimani Che Awang said the suspects, two men and three women aged between 25 and 30, were nabbed in the city at 2.40pm.
“Checks later showed they have no valid travel documents.
“They are being detained under Section 6(1)(c) of Immigration Act 1959/63 and remanded for 14 days to assist in our investigation,” he said.
It was believed that the five suspects were part of the group that was spotted distributing the book to the public near Bukit Bendera earlier today.
